A paradise for nature lovers, the Parc National du Canada de la Mauricie preserves 536 square kilometres of lakes and forests that are representative of the greater Laurentides region. Discover countless natural treasures while camping and canoe-camping. Two heritage buildings take you back to the days of exclusive gaming clubs. Canoeing, hiking and cross-country skiing are the main activities. Interpretation activities have been arranged for you by park naturalists.

A fascinating scientific, historical and natural complex which presents the new permanent exhibition PLANÈTE ENERGIE, equipped with 20 interactive terminals, and the new multimedia presentation which invite visitors to be aware of the delicate balance all around the world between nature, energy, and human society. It also includes the major exhibition MUSEUM OF PRIME MINISTER JEAN CHRÉTIEN, Canada in the world focusing on the numerous gifts from all over the world given to the Prime Minister during his term of office, the 115-meter Hydro-Québec lookout tower and a visit to the Shawinigan-2 generating station, one of Hydro-Québec oldest power plants still operating and part of Québec hydropower heritage, a real gem.

Maison de la culture Francis-Brisson
The Maison de la culture Francis-Brisson plays a vital role in the creation and promotion of performing arts. Thanks to the diverse programming presented by Culture Shawinigan, there is something to satisfy everyone, be it classical music, jazz, folk songs, comedy, etc. Known for its beautiful décor and exceptional acoustics, the cabaret-style venue can hold up to 150 people. A true gathering hub for the community, it can also be rented out for special events.

CENTRE DES ARTS DE SHAWINIGAN
Géré par Culture Shawinigan, le Centre des arts comprend la salle Philippe-Filion et le centre d'exposition Léo-Ayotte. Avec ses 958 places, la salle de concert est l'une des plus grandes entre Montréal et Québec. Certaines des plus grandes productions québécoises et internationales de musique, d'humour, de théâtre et de danse y sont présentées.

Parc de l'Île Melville
The Parc de l'Île Melville – which was known as the Parc des Chutes Shawinigan up until 2004 – consists of a huge area of shore land and of two islands (Melville and Banane) cradled in the majestic Saint-Maurice River. It is ideally located, right in the heart of downtown Shawinigan. Visitors can either camp here or stay at the inn, and are welcome to take part in the many outdoor activities offered both in winter and in summer.
